CAULIFLOWER PAKODA OR FRY


Cauliflower is high in fiber and water. A higher fiber intake appears to help lower blood pressure and cholestrol levels, improve insulin sensivity and enhance weight loss for people with obesity. It's also a significant source of nutrients. Fresh cauliflower florets, coated with spices & gram flour and deep fried to a perfect crispness, is an all time favourite in my house. Try it and you will agree with me!


Ingredients :

300 gms Cauliflower florets
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tblsp red chilli powder
3 tblsp cornflour or rice flour
1 cup gramflower
salt to taste
1 - 2 tblsp water

Method :

1. Wash the cauliflower florets & soak in water with a tsp of salt for atleast 10 minutes. Drain & rinse them thoroughly.
2. Combine turmeric, red chilli powder, cornflour or rice flour, gram flour & salt in a mixing bowl.
3. Add the cauliflower florets & mix well together. Sprinkle water little by little until the cauliflowers are well coated with the masala.
4. Deep fry the cauliflower by separating each floret. Fry till they turn golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve hot as evening snack by sprinkling little chat masala or as side dish during meal time.
