CRAB CURRY (JENJI RASA MANGALOREAN STYLE)

Ingredients :
6 medium sized Crabs
1 cup fresh grated coconut
1 tblsp whole coriander seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp pepper corns
13-15 Bedagi dry chillies
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric pd.
pinch of carom seeds
1/2 onion sliced
5-6 flakes of garlic
small sized ball of tamarind

Method :

1. Clean & cut the crabs.
2. In a pan heat 1 tsp oil & saute the spices & bedagi chillies for a minute.
3. Add onion, garlic & saute for a minute more. Allow to cool.
4. Blend all to a smooth paste along with turmeric pd.,grated coconut, tamarind & little water.
5. Transfer the gravy into the cooking vessel. Add half a cup of water or as desired.
6. When the curry comes to a boil add salt and the crabs. Cover & cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
7. Serve hot with rice.
