CHICKPEA FLOUR & ALMOND SWEET / BADAMI BESAN LADOO

Ladoo is a very popular Indian dessert that is made with puré ghee on special occasions.This Badami Besan Ladoo is one such recipe that has goodness of almonds along with flavourful and protein rich besan flour. The best part about making this Ladoo is that it will fill your entire house with festive aroma!

Ingredients :

2 cups chickpea flour/ besan
1/4 cup semolina/ rawa
1 cup clarified butter/ ghee
1 cup powdered sugar, more if required
1/2 cup roasted & crushed or coarsely ground almond/ badam
2 tsp cardamom powder
few almonds cashews and raisins

Method :

1. Dry roast the besan and rawa in a thick bottom kadai for about 10-15 minutes on low flame. Keep stirring continuously to prevent burning. Transfer into a vessel and keep aside.
2. In the same kadai melt the ghee and add the besan and rawa and roast further till you see change in colour and get a nice nutty aroma. Remove from flame. At this point add the cardamom powder & raisins and mix well. Let cool.
3. After about 20-25 minutes add in the powdered sugar and crushed almonds. Mix the contents well and make sure all are evenly combined.
4. Take a small amount of the mixture in your palm and press with your fingers to make a round ball.
4. Start shaping the ladoos and decorate them with almonds or any other nuts of your choice.
