SUMMER BEVERAGE : WATERMELON SMOOTHIE

Watermelon is an ideal health food because it doesn't contain any fat or cholestrol, is an excellent source of vitamin A, B6 and C, and contains fiber and potassium.... It is a healthy thirst quencher and a perfect treat for a hot summer day. Watermelon is 92% water and hence watermelon smoothies are a bit different from other fruit smoothies. We need to pre-freeze the melon chunks for this recipe. The cool flavours of melon and mint combine to make a healthy beverage that will give you feeling like you are at the spa. All you need are a few ingredients and a blender, and you're well on your way to a refreshing drink to gulp down this summer. The combination of strawberry crush adds sweetness to the recipe.

Ingredients :

2 cups fresh Watermelon chunks
1/2 cup strawberry crush
few mint leaves

Method :

1. Wash the watermelon. Cut into halves. Remove the seeds. Chop the watermelon pulp from the rind and freeze in refrigerator till well freezed not rock hard ofcourse.
2. Next process the watermelon chunks, Strawberry crush and mint leaves until smooth.
3. Serve the watermelon smoothie in a tall chilled glass. Garnish with a wedge of watermelon and fresh mint.
